Your church plant supporters and Launch Team may not be seeing your email newsletters anymore:
Recipients on your distribution list that use gmail or google apps for their email had a recent change to their inbox structure, and chances are really good that your newsletters are being dumped out of sight into their new ‘Promotions’ folder.
Apparently Redbox is having the same issue, because they sent me the ‘how-to’ email above. You might consider sending something similar to your distribution list and/or making some kind of announcement during your Launch Team meeting.
Of course, the inherent problem with sending them a ‘how-to’ email like Redbox did is that if they’re not seeing your other emails, they probably won’t see that one either. Maybe send a one-off email directly from your personal account? Give them a heads up through FaceBook?
Planters I’m serving right now are discovering that even volunteer scheduling requests from platforms like Planning Center Online and Church Community Builder are ending up there, making communications harder than ever.
Have any other creative ideas to get your emails back into the priority inbox?
